Twice a year I head over to the EDIT trade show at the Javits Center where there is always a curated selection of up and coming ready to wear and accessory collections.

For fall/winter 2016 the following designer lines really stood out from the crowd:

ELLIE MAE STUDIOS caught my attention with their beautifully understated outerwear. Each item combined rustic textures with an unexpected color palate. My choice-- a wool boucle topper in rose pink was simply to die for. Its classic shape combined with the unexpected color was simply eye catching and is a perfect piece to spark your winter wardrobe. MARIE SAINT PIERRE is one of Montreal's most celebrated designers. Her RTW combines sophistication with whimsy in a collection that tweaks the classics. The palette is composed of black with a sprinkling of pale neutrals. The collection is a shoo-in for the fashion forward customer. On your next trip to Montreal check out her boutique or go on line to

BODYBAG by jude is aimed at a young trendsetting customer. The under 30 set will find lots of pretty dresses and separates with a ladylike slightly retro vibe.

The geometric prism print "TWIGGY" dress captures the 60's era perfectly.  See the rest of the collection at

Since I'm addicted to handbags I just had to stop by designer JOANNA MAXHAM's booth. This collection has it all ....sophisticated styling, supple leathers, all combined with superb workmanship crafted by artisans in Poland. This is a connoisseur's dream collection at prices that won't break the bank.

Most retail under $600......a steal compared to big name designer lines. I would personally kill for the chubby "CASTAWAY' satchel, gorgeous in cedar or merlot
